Narita Airport To Shizuoka City

Bus commuter pass?

I see people with a bus commuter pass and I'm wondering if there's any information online about this? (I can find a lot of information about the train tekken commuter passes.) I want to see the prices and if it's worth it for me to buy one. If it matters, I'm looking for Yokohama area ones... Keikyu bus or Kanachu bus. (or is there one for all companies?)

Tips for a trip to Nagasaki/Fukuoka/Saga/Oita?

We're trying to head down to Kyushu for a little break later this year, and if you've been to any of the abovementioned prefectures before (or even live there!) I'd love to hear your suggestions for cool things to do and see - preferably the cool spots that guidebooks or online resources might not cover! Thanks in advance!

Trip to Miyazaki this summer. Any recommendations?

Heading to Miyazaki, Kyushu this summer (4 nights, staying in Aoshima). Any recommendations on places to eat would be much appreciated. Also, any sightseeing spots? The priority is surfing but we'll have a car and will still have time to travel around a bit. Cheers!

Any fukubukuro you're eyeing?

It's that time of year when many of us start thinking about fukubukuro, and I was wondering if you have your eyes on any good ones for 2021! I usually opt for coffee/tea ones personally, since I know I'll almost always like and use all of the contents. How about you?

Buying a used house

With being at home and covid everywhere, I’ve been thinking a lot about buying a used house and stop paying all this 70,000¥ Rent. I don’t have PR but I applied in summer. My Japanese is basic so I’m a little worried there may be fine print that I miss when buying. Anything I should look out for when buying? How about when getting a loan? Anything I should be specially aware of? I could buy cash if it’s 10 or less million but I don’t want to put all/most of my savings into something so....so serious. My partner is also a foreigner.

Instant Pot or Other Electric Pressure Cooker Recommendations

We're interested in an electric slow cooker / pressure cooker as LP gas can get expensive. If you have something like that and actually use it often, I'd like to hear from you. Do you have any recommendations for brands (Japanese or other), where to buy one, what size is good for a couple who likes making enough for leftovers? Thanks!

Online clothes shopping in Japan?

So...after years of evading it, the time has come to brave the world of online clothes shopping. I have no idea where to start within Japan. International post is still tricky at the moment, so I am looking for recommendations of places I can shop online for clothes. Gosh, I can't believe I have to ask this, but do Japan's larger / popular shops have online stores!? I suppose I am thinking GU /Uniqlo places like that. How about Zara / Next in Japan? Anywhere else you'd recommend? Thanks in advance!

Best way to print sewing patterns

The seven eleven's copy machine doesn't allow me to print without a border, so all sewing patterns come out skewed. I have tried several different ones, all supposed to be for a4 size paper, but the machine says it isn't the right fit therefore can't fit to page. Does anyone else know of a better place to print off pdf patterns? could i have a copy shop print them and deliver them?

Passing time wisely

I’m thinking with all this time on my hands, i think I should probably be learning something new. The only thing I can think about is buying a bike and riding off into the sunset. What are you doing to pass the time wisely? The Rosetta Stone I downloaded recently still hasn’t been opened. Oh, and they’re now offering 3 months free I think.

Gaijin size bike

With the quarantine going on the cities, I’m thinking to heading to hills. I’m looking to buy (online) a cycle or mountain bike but they all look short in stature. What the average size we use in the west? I’m now thinking they probably have weight limits too. These are things that we never had to worried about. Any help would be appreciated.

What's your go-to place for imported foods?

Not far from me, I have both Kaldi Coffee Farm and Jupiter which has lots of imported foods. Where do you go that's close to you? The things I'm looking for are cheeses, Italian, Thai, and Mexican specialties.

What's on your Christmas list this year?

Curious to know what everyone's hoping for this Christmas! Is it a sign of my age now that I want a robot vacuum?! I can recall a time when getting a cleaning object may have been downright offensive, but not these days! I don't really have much else that I want or need. How about the rest of you?

Amazon hits and misses

Most of my purchases on Amazon have been household goods and groceries. Kitchen equipment, rugs, laundry and bath stuff. For food, mostly whole bean coffee, condiments, and dried or canned foods. So my question is, for kitchen, bath, and laundry, what purchases have you made that were good value for money? What grocery items do you get?

Clothes shops for the "not too young but not too old" crowd?

I'm pushing my mid 30's now, and I want to know about good places to find clothes here that fit that age bracket. I feel like there's a lot of stuff here suited to the 20-something crowd and a lot suited to people well older than me - but I seem to be missing the bracket that suits my age group! Any suggestions/recommendations for women's clothes stores that aren't going to make me look like a granny, but aren't going to make me look like a teenager?! Added point: I'm a mom of two kids so I need practicality, too!

Second hand Lego in Japan

Hi, does anyone know where you can find second hand Lego in Japan. Ebay and other flea market sites seem to have slim pickings. A friend suggests that most Japanese throw the Lego away because they assume other Japanese won't touch it due to hygiene concerns. Thanks :)
