Go for the beer, not the poutine
In an effort to satisfy my craving for poutine, I came across Whistler Cafe in Jimbocho. The place offered complimentary smoked salmon with cream cheese on crackers on getting seated. They also had a selection of beers and wines that looked like they were brewed in Canada. There were some names on the menu that I recognized. Food on the menu were pub-type fares, like nachos, chicken wings, and some beef cuts. What I came to the place for was a disappointment though. The fries in the poutine were thin cut fries and not to the thick juliennes I'm used to eating poutine with. The gravy was non-existent, and the cheese was most of the topping. The poutine here might as well be regular cheesy fries. What stopped me from giving the place a two star was the drink selection, the atmosphere, and the complementary starters.
