All seasons, lots to do
Noda City's oldest and largest park surrounds a temple, Konjoin. There is a lot to see and do any time of year here. In the spring, plums, cherries and azaleas bloom in succession, with wide areas of plantings and orchards. In summer, peonies, hydrangeas, and lotus are on display in the temple garden. The park has something for everyone. Japan's biggest field athletics course, barbecue plaza, cabins and tenting areas, and wide lawns make it a great place for day trips or overnights. Nearby is a water park, ponny paddock, and a horticultural garden, Flower Fantasia. The park is an excellent bird watching location because of its tree cover, proximity to the Edo River, and visiting birds from a nearby bird sanctuary. You can spot cranes, herons and kingfishers. Lots of food options are available. There are a few restaurants in the park, and a trout fishing park where you can grill your catch. It's easy to get to, a brisk walk up the slope from Shimizu Koen Station.
