I feel like I've hit up all the "standard" hanami spots: Yoyogi, Asukayama, Ueno, Yanaka... What's your favorite spot (preferably not on that list) and why?
Where could I bring a group for an interesting tour of forest or gardens , cute town hope with onsen . Nature a bit
Are there any direct bus rides from Narita Airport to Shizuoka City, Shizuoka?
Hi. I will be travelling to Japan this coming April 11. I would like to know the cheapest, economical ride direct going to Shizuoka City, Shizuoka from Narita Airport Terminal 2. This will be my first time in Japan. :)
I see people with a bus commuter pass and I'm wondering if there's any information online about this? (I can find a lot of information about the train tekken commuter passes.) I want to see the prices and if it's worth it for me to buy one. If it matters, I'm looking for Yokohama area ones... Keikyu bus or Kanachu bus. (or is there one for all companies?)
We're trying to head down to Kyushu for a little break later this year, and if you've been to any of the abovementioned prefectures before (or even live there!) I'd love to hear your suggestions for cool things to do and see - preferably the cool spots that guidebooks or online resources might not cover! Thanks in advance!
Heading to Miyazaki, Kyushu this summer (4 nights, staying in Aoshima). Any recommendations on places to eat would be much appreciated. Also, any sightseeing spots? The priority is surfing but we'll have a car and will still have time to travel around a bit. Cheers!
I'm pushing my mid 30's now, and I want to know about good places to find clothes here that fit that age bracket. I feel like there's a lot of stuff here suited to the 20-something crowd and a lot suited to people well older than me - but I seem to be missing the bracket that suits my age group! Any suggestions/recommendations for women's clothes stores that aren't going to make me look like a granny, but aren't going to make me look like a teenager?! Added point: I'm a mom of two kids so I need practicality, too!

Hi, does anyone know where you can find second hand Lego in Japan. Ebay and other flea market sites seem to have slim pickings. A friend suggests that most Japanese throw the Lego away because they assume other Japanese won't touch it due to hygiene concerns. Thanks :)

I have family visiting Osaka and I'm in charge of choosing the eating establishments... I'm not necessarily looking for Osaka-specialty foods (kushikatsu, okonomiyaki, takoyaki, etc.) Just some typical Japanese shokudo-style restaurants that really stand out in your mind. Also, I don't eat red meat so no tonkatsu / yakiniku / etc. please! And preferably near the city center (Osaka/Umeda station or Namba)! Thank you :)

Hello, everyone. I have been dreaming of going to Okinawa some day. I want to stay at a hotel for one or two nights, see and swim in a beautiful transparent sea with sand long beach. But unfortunately my dream never came true. I am told that Okinawa is super expensive and people usually book hotels, airline tickets and so on several months beforehand. I am not a rich person that's why I would like to travel econom level. Could anyone please give me some advice on going to Okinawa including some information about transport, hotels, beaches, food, souvenirs?

Hey everyone! I’m moving to Nagoya in a few weeks like to take up a job teaching English as a foreign language. Re-locating on my own, I know little Japanese and no one in Japan.. yet! I was wondering what can I expect like culture shock wise? How did you adjust? What challenges will be the most testing?

I am Not a makeup girl. I like chapstick, maybe one with a little color in it. That's about it. I'm a natural type and would probably get lipstick onto clothes / cups so I've just avoided using it. I've been checking out the lipstick (and tinted chapsticks) sold in drugstores (usually under/around the 1000 yen price range) but don't know anything about make up. I want to get one pink (not too bright) light feeling lipstick. Any ideas? Are they all sort of the same at that price range? Local is better, but I noticed Shiseido's are over 2000 yen each. Is it worth it? Cruelty free gets bonus points.

So, I really want to invest in a good quality coffee maker. Until now I've used a french press, but my husband does instant coffee because it is the quickest thing to a cup of coffee. All of the coffee makers I've seen at K's denki and such are flimsy plasticy and feel like they will fall apart in 5 mins, but still cost ichi man. I'm afraid to purchase one online and have the same feeling. Anyone have a brand recommendation on amazon? I'm looking for one with a programmable timer for my mendokusagari husband.
