Living in Miyahara-shi
I have been asked to consider a role that is based in Miyahara-shi. If I went for this job I would be on my own (family will not be able to move initially). Would be good to get some idea of any expat community or life in the area. Whilst I have some very rusty and basic speaking Japanese I would need to be able to communicate at least in the early days in English. Any input?
Could you clarify which Miyahara City? There seem to be towns with that name in several prefectures. If you use your basic Japanese everyday here, it will improve exponentially faster than when you study back home. It's not easy at first, but you'll survive. It takes time to meet people so hopefully you can make some connections online before heading over. Look for Japanese lessons called "Nihongo Kyoshitsu" when you get settled (wherever you decide) and that will also help you to meet other foreigners.0
